Can you make it happen again? What Linux distro and desktop env. are you using? If you can make it happen every time, what if you tried updating to LibO 5.1.x? Set to NEEDINFO. First, select the menue-item, then comes the messages-box and then libreoffice terminating, no symbol in the taskbar.

Answer: No. But I get exactly the same message by a version from 4.x. and I stay by the parent version of Libreoffice until the bug was fixed. I don't remember which version this happened. And then I think, already the same mistake. But it's okay, the other functions goes well from tray, perhaps have another User the same message error and he can give you more information like me.
