Following is the text I copied from About LibreOffice as per comment 3 request: Version: 5.1.4.2 Build ID: f99d75f39f1c57ebdd7ffc5f42867c12031db97a CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Windows 6.2; UI Render: default; Locale: en-US (en_US) 5 LibreOffice is a modern, easy-to use, open source productivity suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and more. This release was supplied by the Document Foundation Copyright c 2000-2016 LibreOffice contributors. LibreOffice was based on OpenOffice.org CREDITS WEBSITE CLOSE Not reproducible with LO 5.2.2.1 (x64) under Windows 10. Thanks, Richard. It might be some glitch. You can try this: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resolving_corruption_in_the_user_profile Please, how do you exactly select the cell? I select the cell by left clicking on it. I then click again in an effort to drag it to another location and all that happens is that both the cell I clicked and the cell to which I am attempting to move the original cell are both highlighted and selected. I have also tried selecting the cell by using the arrow keys with the same result On the other hand if I select two or more cells both are selected and highlighted and I am able to drag these to another location. I think you are no selecting the cell, but positioned on it. Please take a look on how to do it. https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Selecting_Multiple_Cells#Mark_a_single_cell You are quite correct. I used Excel from Office 2003 for many years and the behavior is quite different. In my case clicking on a cell creates a bold, black border. That is what I had been doing and found that the contents of the cell did not drag and drop. Ctrl-click or Shift-click highlights the cell in light blue then pressing the left mouse button does move the content of that cell. It is interesting that if two or more cells are selected then it is not necessary to ctrl-click or shift-click in order to drag and drop. Inconcistancy? Many thanks for your persistence and resolution to my issue. |
