Description Jiri Slezka 2016-07-29 13:36:22 UTC
Hello,

I am inserting certain data into cell (mac address in cisco format - eg. 0090.f80a.1228) and then I want to edit it and rewrite it to common format with semicolons (eg. 00:90:f8:0a:12:28). When I write last semicolon betwen 12 and 28, cell is corrupted...

Steps to reproduce:

1) open a new spreadsheet
2) copy from text file string 0090.f80a.1228
3) paste it into any cell
4) edit string - add semicolon after 00, delete . and add semicolon after 90, add semicolon after f8, delete . and add semicolon after 0a, add semicolon after 12

at this point cell is corrupted - string become "00:90:f8:0a🕛28"

This happens because of emoji support. For details see bug 97191, and for a workaround please see this comment: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97191#c3 .
