TOC showing vertical alignment of dash fill character

If you use a dash as the fill character in Paragraph style > Tab, it appears vertically-aligned in a centred position. However, this should be bottom-aligned, surely?

Why it should be bottom-aligned. Tabs are filled with hyphens.

Agree with Xisco here, the fill is predefined to use a 'Hyphen-Minus' (0x002d) in the font of the style. Its vertical position will be as the font defines it against the text base line.

The 'Full-stop' (0x002e) is also available predefined and takes its position as defined in the font on the base line. As does the predefined 'Low Line' (0x005f), but that results in a solid line.

If you want the effect of a dash aligned to bottom, you'll need to modify the selected "Contents" style and use a "character" separator--I would suggest the 'Modifier letter low macron' (0x02cd) "ˍ" as a choice to get this effect.
