Thank you for reporting the bug. it seems you're using an old version of LibreOffice. Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version. Have installed 6.3.5 on a Linux Mint VM - the problem is still there. I can reproduce this in LibreOfficeDev on Windows as well. Does this exactly qualify as a bug, though? When the cursor is focused on the search bar field, should LibreOffice allow the user to save? Using: Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: b0b9d736fb9ed73e849f80800916466868dbce28 CPU threads: 2; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 17763; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win; Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US Calc: CL I see this on Linux with gen and gtk3, but not with kf5 backend. I see this on Windows as well all the way back to 3.5.0. Ctrl-S works while focus is in various input fields in the Sidebar, so I don't see why it should not work here. On GTK3 it is working ok. ----------------------- Ctrl+F, type something, Ctrl+S --> I am requested to save the file somewhere -> OK ----------------------- Version: 7.0.1.2 Build ID: 7cbcfc562f6eb6708b5ff7d7397325de9e764452 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (ro_RO.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Now there is an improvement in the gtk3 backend: if you mouse-click into the find field, the shortcuts work! This change was brought about by https://git.libreoffice.org/core/commit/3b8c42a94b5448364d47daa103b3452f54990524 FindTextFieldControl Dear Stephen Meatheringham, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! Warm Regards, QA Team MassPing-UntouchedBug ^s now works when the cursor focus is in the "find text" box.
