When i (win10) doubleclick on a *.odt the writer opens op, and show lots of characteres... ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ########ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ#############ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ##############ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ###############ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ###########

Bu if i start writer and in writer open the file, it works fine ?

Thank you for reporting the bug. which ever way I open, either double click or start in Writer, It shows only the characters.

The file is not an ODT document. You don't say where it originates from, but we can see that it has a Canon copyright statement. Closing.
