Table Style Preview
As previews for tables need more space, what if we have an preview at the bottom of the Styles sidebar? there you can show the previews which are already available in the dialog.
Problem, when you select a style you see the preview, but the style of the tabel change also.

Good idea. I think at the bottom is the best place. How is it visually separated from the styles list? > Problem, when you select a style you see the preview, but the style of the > tabel change also. One click: preview is shown but style is not assigned to table. Double-click: preview is shown and style is assigned to table. I see no problem here? There is definitely space for improvement in the consistency between Writer and Impress, including where things are located and how they are named. - In Writer, the styles are called "AutoFormat Styles" in the toolbar and dialog, but just (Table) Styles in the Styles sidebar. - Impress has them in the section "Table Design" of the "Properties" sidebar. It makes it difficult to locate things when going from one component to the other. But I guess that's a slightly different problem. To stick to the topic: table style previews are still not available in Writer's styles sidebar in LO 7.5, even though there is a "Show previews" setting underneath. I like the solution by Andreas in comment 3. Not sure when table styles were introduced, but no preview since at least LO 6.3.
