No repro using Version: 6.4.6.2; Build ID: 0ce51a4fd21bff07a5c061082cc82c5ed232f115 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.3; UI render: default; VCL: kf5; Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US; Calc: threaded However this looks like a usage problem. To select a single cell for being dragged, user needs to - click the cell - move mouse pointer to a neighboring cell (while left mouse key pressed) - move back to original cell (still left mouse key pressed) => Cell to be moved turns its color to same color like a selection of a whole range and can be moved. Hi, Thanks for the feedback, but i believe is it a bug or a short coming. I agree your action works for a range of cells, but it involves a minimum of 2 cells. I often want to move/drag a single cell (including it's data content) not a range, typically when developing a new spreadsheet model. For me (at least) the process you describe does not work as you have to select at least 2 cells (original + adjacent) which then both move when dragged to another part of the spreadsheet. Other spreadsheets i have used support the ability to move a single cell. Hope this helps clarify my point. (In reply to wallington136 from comment #2) > Hi, > > I agree your action works for a range of cells, but it involves a minimum of > 2 cells. No I'm not talking about a range of more than one cells, the procedure described in my comment is about a single cell. Keep left mouse pressed and move one step down and one step up and the *single* cell turn its color. and you can move it. Essentially clicking to a cell doesn't select it. You need to perform a mouse move right - left, up - down, down - up or left - right (which one doesn't matter) and then the *single* cell is selected and can be moved. If this procedure doesn't work, it might be a bug (likely not tested on same LibreOffice version like you). Created attachment 166248 [details]
Move Single Cell in LibreOffice 6.4.6.2
Please see also the attachment demonstrating my last comment.
You could also use: Click the cell, Press CTRL key and click once more into the cell. Ok, i now understand and can move a cell using both methods you describe. Many thanks for your patience and guidance. I use spreadsheets a lot, just fairly new to LibreOffice. I hope to be able to usefully (as opposed to this first attempt) contribute to its development over time through use and testing and providing feedback accordingly. |
