1. insert some text, select some text
2. Format->Character->Border
3. click Shadow Style 2nd box from the left (bottom-right shadow
4. OK
5. move cursor inside the text with shadow
6. observe cursor being placed oddly, sometimes in middle of characters
7. type in a letter - observe letter being inserted one letter to the left of cursor

Did you mean "cursor is placed.." instead of "..painted.."?

1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
