I have found, the solution comes asap. Here the patch https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/130408 Juergen Funk committed a patch related to this issue. It has been pushed to "master": https://git.libreoffice.org/core/commit/0498c522724bbfd789261cb1562b3bfe1a81bb3e tdf#147589 In document with OLE link, don't show temp-file is in use It will be available in 7.4.0. The patch should be included in the daily builds available at https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/ in the next 24-48 hours. Created attachment 178456 [details] Document in Use Dialog Steps: Create new Calc files, e.g. 3x3, insert a few (distinctive) numbers (or letters), save and close. Create new Writer file, insert a few blank lines Link the Calc file as OLE object into the Writer document via: + Menu->Insert->Object->OLE-Object... + "Create from file" + select the newly created Calc file via ->Search + Tick with "Link to file". + OK After OK the dialog "Document in Use" is displayed, see attached picture
