Description:
Sometimes when I open a document by double-clicking on its icon, the splash screen is shown, but sticks with the progress bar half-way through (See screenshot attached). I use the Task Manager to get rid of the process and trying again it (I think) always works OK.

I noticed this a few weeks ago, after updating to 7.2.6.2

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Double-click on an LO document
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Splash screen appears with progress bar half-way through.

Expected Results:
LO should have opened the document

It seems that this happens when it's the first time I open an LO document after rebooting the PC.

@Suthagar This doesn't answer the question. The problem occurs when opening a document which already exists by double-clicking on its desktop icon. Noting to do with creating a new document.

I have also found that dragging the icon onto the LO program icon also freezes in the same say.
Comment 5 Peter Toye 2022-07-07 17:16:44 UTC
I have also found that double-clicking on the LO program icon also gives a frozen splash screen.

This is a hard bug, and occurs every time the PC is rebooted. It does not occur until the next reboot.

It's not a game-changer, but is extremely annoying.

I have tried removing the user profile, but get the same behaviour.

It also happens with version 7.2.7.2, but seems to have started with 7.2.6.2.
Comment 6 Peter Toye 2022-08-26 16:22:44 UTC
This bug seems to have disappeared in version 7.3.5.2 so I'm closing it.
Comment 7 Peter Toye 2022-08-27 09:49:24 UTC
But it's back again. Very odd and annoying.

Reopened is status for fix not working. This one is Unconfirmed, please keep it so.
I understand you are saying that after reboot LO doesn't load with double-clicking on document icon.
What's not clear if it happens for specific documents or for any, all the time.
Comment 9 Peter Toye 2022-09-05 11:57:27 UTC
This happens all of the time the first time I try to open LibO after a reboot. For any document or when just opening LibO from its desktop icon.

It does not happen after waking up from hibernation.

I hope that's clear now.

Do you use the Quickstarter?
Comment 11 Peter Toye 2023-01-31 13:01:31 UTC
No.
Comment 12 Peter Toye 2023-02-08 16:48:23 UTC
I've tried using QuickStarter and that seems to have removed the bug. So at least there's a workaround.
Comment 13 Peter Toye 2023-02-09 10:37:13 UTC
I switched Quick Start off and LibO now loads normally. SO whatever the bug was has gone away. I've marked this bug as Resolved.
