Damon Anderson, thank you for enhancement request. Let's ask design team for decision. Personally I won't support the idea, because you can easily create a default template in A4. There might also be a conflict, if default template has a different page size than format settings in language dialog. cc: Design-Team Tend to agree with Damon but can follow Dieter's argument too. If the default page size should be made optional the best place seems to be next to T > O > Writer > Settings where the measurement units are located (and need to be adjusted likewise the page size). (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #2) > If the default page size should be made optional the best place seems to be > next to T > O > Writer > Settings where the measurement units are located But isn't the Default Page Style setting common to (almost) all modules? Writer, Calc, Impress/Draw, and Base with its generated reports? We discussed the topic in the design meeting. While templates are an simple and versatile way to define local defaults, and we should promote it further, users expect some important settings in the options. The page size is limited by the printer, at least when it comes to printing. But we could add some sane default values. (In reply to Eyal Rozenberg from comment #3) > But isn't the Default Page Style setting common to (almost) all modules? I wouldn't search at Language for the default page size. The measurement unit is also module specific. |
