I guess you are trying to sort with the general sort of calc, not with the pivot table properties. Maybe it doesn't work exactly the same in calc and excel, because calc always restart the format of the PT every time it is updated. But you have an option to update the PT based on result. While in PT, Right-click - Properties - Double-click on Row field 'Description' - Options - Sort by 'Sum Amount' - Descending - Ok - Ok - Ok. Got it, this is indeed the answer to the problem HOWEVER...its too complex, too many steps, go inside this, that, clic, etc. it should be more agile, simpler. hope you can incorporate the feedback into the dev discussions. many thanks for all the support. Then please do a new report as enhancement, explain in it how do you expect it can work. |
