Please test with a clean profile, Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode

Following Mario's comment, you can find more details here:

Sounds similar to bug 149849 and bug 148989, both in "need info" state.
Comment 4 Ondrej Neff 2022-12-21 08:58:57 UTC
The problem is that scrolling causes the entire Libre Office Writter and all open text files to crash once the text file is large. Typically for me 500k characters or more. I can't move around in it other than via the page up and page down keys. It is on the edge of usability. I've been using Libre Office (before that Oen Office) for maybe twenty years, but it only makes it to the latest upgrade.

Ok but you tell nothing about tests indicated in comment 1 and 2.
Comment 6 Tom Parry 2023-01-27 18:06:11 UTC
Yes I am getting this error frequently when scrolling with my mouse. It is as if the event processing is overwhelmed or a buffer overflows.
I even turned off the jre and changed the number of undo to 20 from 100 as per other suggestions.
Also changed to safe mode and all that - same issue.

I changed to Libre Writer from OpenOffice because of this very issue.
It is so annoying.
Now I backup and save every 10 minutes.

Current writer document has many images - roughly 31 at this time,
32,500 characters, pages 44.

Let's revert version since it must correspond to the earliest affected.
Comment 8 Stéphane Guillou (stragu) 2023-01-27 21:46:16 UTC
Ondrej first mentioned version 7.3.7.2, so using that as earliest.

Ondrej, can you check if you can see the same issue in safe mode? Go to Help > Restart in safe mode > Continue in safe mode.
Tom seems to have the same issue in safe mode, so I want to rule out it being related to Skia/Vulkan for what you first reported, Ondrej.

Tom, are you saying you were seeing the same issue in OpenOffice?

If possible, attaching an example file would be great for others to test.
