Description smartsmurff 2023-02-20 19:05:54 UTC
Just installed Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon edition (Cinnamon version 5.4.5).

In LibreOffice Writer:

When l drop a .PNG image file (postage label l have just purchased) into a Writer document (to position it in one of 4 corners of the page) l have to rotate the image. Once l do this, the image gains an intractable left hand margin. It cannot be moved further left, even though it can be moved up and down.

Previous version of LibreOffice (with Linux Mint 18) worked flawlessly in this regard (and every other regard l can think of).

This is a very serious flaw to me, as l need to position postage labels onto a page for my business.

(As an asides, just dropping in an image file creates new menu icons l don't need.)

I tried it in the following environment, but the symptom is not reproduced.

Version: 7.5.0.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: c21113d003cd3efa8c53188764377a8272d9d6de
CPU threads: 24; OS: Linux 5.10; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: ja-JP (ja_JP.UTF-8); UI: ja-JP
Calc: CL threaded

You may want to try out the new version.
Or please upload a screenshot to clarify the problem.

By the way, I have no idea how to upgrade (or as preferred, downgrade) a specific part of LibreOffice e.g. Writer.

At my level of expertise, I can only stay with whatever version of Writer that was bundled with my Linux Mint operating system.
