With Menu/format/Character you should be able to do it, across the tabs. with Menu/format/character-> i can't set the font style shadow method text I am also facing this issue. I can't able to do the multiple text format in the single click. Actual: I want to select multiple text format in single click. But, the text format popup will not wait for selecting multiple text format (BOLD,ITALIC,SINGLE UNDERLINE,SHADOW). It will closed while i am selecting one text format. It is not waiting for selecting another one. Expected: I want to select multiple text format in single click (BOLD,ITALIC,SINGLE UNDERLINE,SHADOW) The text format popup window will wait for selecting multiple text format. You can set up with Menu/format/character-> On the tab 'Font' - 'Style', Bold/Italic or both. On the tab 'Font Effects', 'Text decoration' - Underlining. 'Effects' - Shadow. Thank you for your response sir, Checkbox selection is there on the text format popup. Then in that case it will wait for the multiple text in single click means only its a proof of correctness. Actual: It will closed while i am selecting one text format. It is not waiting for selecting another one. Expected: The text format popup window showing (checkbox selection) my expectation is multiple checkbox selection in single click. Effectively, when I change the format of the text via the menu Format>Text, the menu disappears after one choice. However, I can do my multiple choice of text format via the options bar on the top of the screen. For me, this bug is an ergonomy question of the Text menu. Why the user cannot make a multiple choice via the Text menu? Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 4daeb21a5f533144fd6b3bc397a98f37e5b1dd4c CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR); UI: fr-FR Calc: CL threaded The icons in the top menu are used to indicate that something is on, they are not actual tick boxes like in a dialog. The design of the top menu is that clicking one element executes an action, and then closes. I don't see this changing any time soon, the behaviour is standard and I can't think of other apps in which the menu remains open after having clicked on an option. (Can you think of one?) Alternatives to using the menu repeatedly: - toolbar, which you can customise - Character dialog (accessed through top menu or context menu) - If you often need to apply the same set of direct formatting options, you should create a character style that has them all I believe these are sufficient. Agreeing with Miguel Angel in closing as "won't fix". (Maybe better icons could be used if they look like actual tickboxes, but I think that comes from your desktop environment, not LO. Mine look like this on GNOME: ✓) The UX team can weigh in. If you keep the menu open for multiple selections consider the situation where you want to run a single action with a popup menu (whether main menu or the context menu) and you need to click somewhere to close the menu. It's standard behavior and very reasonable. The alternatives are clear (not to mention keyboard shortcuts) and the recommendation to use character styles. => NAB/WF |
