Description davidhajjar 2023-03-28 17:46:38 UTC
Description:
I don't know if it's a bug, or if I should make a complaint about Libreoffice's installation behabiour. I've updated Libreoffice with Typical installation option, and it has changed the icons if my files. My father needs the Office icons back to be able to identify the files. Libreoffice should have asked if I wanted to replace the icons.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Update Libreoffice
2.Chosse Typical installation
3.Find the file icons changed.

Reproducible: Always

Additional Info:
To ask if I want it. OR remember last choice (maybe I used Custom installation, I don't remember)

LibreOffice 7.5 comes with new icons: https://news.itsfoss.com/libreoffice-7-5-release/

This is expected behavior. However the word icon suggests you have both LibreOffice and MS Office installed on your windows computer.

Not a windows user and I am not sure how to change the icons back to the MS Office icons. But that is not a LibreOffice issue but rather a windows issue. Found https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/shell/how-to-assign-a-custom-icon-to-a-file-type but that covers custom icons which is not quite what we are looking for.

I'd also recommend checking what you default application is for certain filetypes.
