I did just test it with ending writer via taskmanager, which would have the same effect as a system reset and the same thing happened. So it does not appear to be a user profile corruption issue. Please test in safe mode, Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode Have you enable the option for recovery? Okay, so i first tested it in safe mode and it did not work, However it would appear that the auto recovery option was not enabled. I do not know why it is disabled by default or why the default is every 10 min. I did not think that the recovery option was disabled because before i did the user profile reset i was still getting the recovery window appearing at launch saying everything was successfully recovering. So it appears to be a bug which shows the recovery window despite not having it enabled ? I suppose that could have been fixed via the user profile reset. It is unlikely that that bug was a result of it remembering some previously installed version as i freshly reinstalled windows so i am not sure what was causing the recovery windows on startup to show but not work. However i have now had atleast 1 successful recovery, so hopefully it remains that way from now on. Thankyou for your help. However i would recommend making the default settings be auto recovery enabled and at 1 min. I would also recommend allowing down to a 1 second option, essentially a live auto recovery option for instances where, you write a reminder or something out just before turning off the computer, where 1min has not elapsed. Things are more complicated since some users have big files (more MB) and hundreds of images. So a save each minute would be impossible.
