Description Olivier Hallot 2023-08-31 10:44:35 UTC
Use case:
I want to import the styles from a master document to a chapter. This allows me to set and control the styles in the master document and import them to the chapter, in order to have an homogenous layout throughout MD and chapters.

Today homogeneity is achieved with an extra file (the template file) that has to be common to MD and chapters:

Actual results:
On importing styles from a external document, only ODT, OTT and OpenOffice 1.0 file formats are allowed.

Expected results:
Allow styles to be imported from a Master Document (ODM) and master document templates too.

It will allow to skip the need of a template file.

Using the master document to overrule the use of templates sounds wrong to me. However, it was accepted in the duplicate bug 94501. And it might be indeed a convenience feature.
