Description:
It would help to have a thick border around the active (selected) cell/s.

Also, I tried using the brush too (to copy format of one cell to another). It does not work.... at least not as in Excel!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. click on brush tool
2. move to another cell
3. nothing happens

Actual Results:
nothing

Expected Results:
cell format should change to that of previously selected cell (when the brush tool was clicked/ selected)

Reproducible: Always

I used an *arrow key* to move/ slide onto the next cell.

I just realised that the tool works if the new cell is selected by clicking over it.

I have just installed and used the 7.6.4.1 version to test the tool out in my previous comment.

A feature was just implemented for optionally highlighting the row and column of a selected cell, would it help you: bug 33201?

Yes, I understand that, but we have to be careful to limit the number of features in the application. If we don't, it becomes unmaintainable for developers.

You can check it by installing an unstable build, Win-x86_64@tb77-TDF from https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html

Look for the option in Tools - Options - Calc - View - Column/row highlighting

The highlight column/row option should do.

Thanks.

Thanks for the update, so let's close as duplicate.

Your other issue about cloning formatting with arrow keys is bug 99936.
