Description:
Double click (in finder) /Applications/LibreOffice.app
or control click on that and select open.
The menu line shows LibreOffice for one second or so,
and then disappears without any other visible activity.

I tried three versions: (all fail the same way)
7.5.9 from the App. store
7.5.9 from the LO download page
7.6.4 from the LO download page


Steps to Reproduce:
1. Double click (in finder) /Applications/LibreOffice.app
2. (alternative) control click on that and select op

Actual Results:
The menu line shows LibreOffice for one second or so,
and then disappears without any other visible activity.


Expected Results:
At least one window should open


Reproducible: Always

the current release versions won't run on 12.7.x

You will only be able to use an older version, so you will have to try your luck here:

The reason for this appears to be that LO releases are built with the 10.14 SDK and XCode 11.3.

Presumably, the baseline for the build has been moved again.

says macOS 10.15 or later supported. 12.x is later than 10.15.

Alex: could you elaborate? What am I missing?

You should certainly be able to open all versions.
Slightly unsure what is going on on your mac. Are you using an intel or arm mac? Had you tried the obvious system restart?

I'm on an intel Mac.
I'm happy to run debugging or information gathering steps if you can point me to a procedure for doing so.

Well, how about that.  After a system restart, LO opens up OK.

Thanks for the feedback. macOS ain't what it used to be back in Snow Leopard times.
