When the Find Toolbar is open, with the drop-down combo-box focused, and one press Ctrl+F - one gets an animation effect of the combo-box shrinking and growing, twice, while also fading to gray as it shrinks and out of gray when it grows.

This is a poor, poor choice of effect. It's not similar to anything else in LO that I can think of, and makes one feel the whole LO UI is actually made of silly-putty and can be kneaded into different shapes. Baah. No. It's even a bit scary, because if those crazy developers can start moving your controls for you, who else knows what they'll do :-(

So - do something else. Say, mark the combo-box text as selected, then deselected again (and maybe then selected again). But not this silly animation.

Is this a follow-up for bug 148349?

Apparently this animation exists only in Gtk.

Also, isn't this a duplicate of bug 151110?

Yes it is. I just refuse to believe we've had that ridiculous thing for two years now.

Although I like the idea of having some animations in the UI, this one seems a bit odd indeed.
