Description Nick e.g. 2024-05-21 04:50:57 UTC
Description:
When opening documents created by MS Word that have cropped (not scaled) images, in Writer the crops are lost and the images are scaled to the frame created by the crops.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a document in MS Word, insert images and crop (not scale) those images
2. Save the Word document as a docx.
3. Open in Writer and observe the images have lost the crops and are instead warped by being scaled into the frames created by the crops.

Actual Results:
Images are warped by mis-scaling due to and not properly cropped.

Expected Results:
Images should be cropped the same as in Word

Reproducible: Always

I tested with this sample file created in MS 365, including a cropped PNG.
Rendered the same in:

Can you please share a sample file? Did you possibly use an SVG? I think you might be seeing bug 160571.
