spreadsheet saved as .xls
This is a sample of the type of file that is causing a problem. While creating this file I discovered that this problem happens when the file type is Excel 97-2003 (*.xls). There is no problem with file type Excel 2007-365 (*.xlsx).
I can't reproduce Version: 24.2.4.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 51a6219feb6075d9a4c46691dcfe0cd9c4fff3c2 CPU threads: 16; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22631; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: es-ES (es_ES); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded What are the steps on how do you sort? I am using an inexpensive laptop that I recently purchased. It is a Lenovo Ideapad 1I running Windows 11 home. It was in s mode. I couldn't turn off s mode by following any of the instructions from microsoft. I had to disable secure boot in the bios. As for the problem, I didn't do anything unusual. 1.open spreadsheet in calc 2. sort the file on a chosen column 3. save the file At that point I see the spinning circle and nothing happens. The software becomes unresponsive and I have to close it manually. The file itself is unchanged and the .~lock.(file name).xls# file is left behind. Not reproduced with: Version: 24.2.4.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 51a6219feb6075d9a4c46691dcfe0cd9c4fff3c2 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.5; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded Please update to version 24.2.4 and test again. If it still happens: - Does it only happen with the XLS format? What about saving as ODS or XLSX? - Please paste here the version info copied with the button in Help > About LibreOffice. Thank you Updated to v24.2.4.2 and problem is resolved. |
