Description Steven W 2011-02-12 12:27:50 UTC
There a several DOCX files posted on sourceforge at the OpenXML/ODF Translator Add-in for Office project available here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/odf-converter/files/Sample%20Files%20for%20Open%20XML/Release%203.0/

Note there are DOCX, PPTX, and XLSX files available. The DOCX are download-able from here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/odf-converter/files/Sample%20Files%20for%20Open%20XML/Release%203.0/DOCX_Files_3.0.zip/download

I've been opening some of the DOCX files, and most are not rendering properly. I'll point out the one worst I've seen so far is 'arrow width.docx' included in the zip archive. It looks like a 3" black bar covers every page of the document.

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1

Due to the fact, that there are a lot of NEEDINFO bugs with no answer within the last six months, we close all of these bugs.

To keep this message short, more infos are available @ https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/NeedinfoClosure#Statement

Thanks for understanding and hopefully updating your bug, so that everything is prepared for developers to fix your problem.

I close this bug again, because this one unfortunately is rather useless. Reporter tells us that there are lots of documents in the world what are not shown optimum with LibO - we know, for that knowledge we do not need this bug. And that problem can not be fixed. And I am pretty sure that nobody will do tests with those documents.

Don't understand me wrong, it would be great if someone would start the work, check the documents and submit "real" bug reports.

@sasha:
I generally agree with your opinion that it was not a good idea to close lots of bugs without any attempt to find out whether the report is appropriate and useful.
