Description Vossman 2011-02-27 10:10:17 UTC
I am one of those people who want to have JRE disabled in libreoffice. Whenever I try to save a new document (save as dialog), I want to switch to the desktop. On the Mac, I use command-D to do this. Every time I do this, the Enable JRE dialog pops up and says that JRE is required for this (it is not). So, I have to click the No button in the enable JRE box.

This is annoying for three reasons: (1) the Enable JRE box pops UNDER the save as dialog, so I have to move the save as window out of the way to get to the enable JRE box. (2) The default choice is "Yes", so I have to manually select the button and go into the preferences if I accidentally hit enter. (3) It happens every time I save a new file or export a PDF, i.e., multiple times a day.

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1

Appears to be fixed in 3.5.0beta2
Comment 3 Vossman 2011-12-28 13:29:53 UTC
Nope this is still a bug in 3.5.0beta2.
Comment 4 Michael Meeks 2012-02-28 03:34:08 UTC
That is annoying. I wonder what hook is getting triggered there.

Is there any chance you can get a gdb stacktrace of the process at the point that it is showing that dialog ? :-)

It's hard to see why we'd want a JRE to switch to and from the desktop - looks like some low-level hook that we don't want on mac.

Thanks !
