confirming (on maverick) Seems like we try to open the file RDWR, which gives no joy:
open("/home/bjoern/.gvfs/natty-desktop-amd64.iso/md5sum.txt", O_RDWR) = -1 EOPNOTSUPP (Operation not supported)
It looks like the problem is not confined just to Writer. I just tried with the other programs in the suite and they all failed the same way. [This is an automated message.] This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases. Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1 more detail on this bulk operation: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/RFC-Operation-Spamzilla-tp3607474p3607474.html I no longer have my original setup, but I've successfully opened a file on a mounted iso using Writer 3.3.3 on my up-to-date LMDE system. Changed Summary according to comment #3 (not only Writer affected). @Danny Cook: What do you thing? Can we close this bug report, as per comment #5 it seems to work for you now, or do you think we should keep this report open? Yeah, I'd say so. (Hope it's okay that I'm closing it. I'm not sure what the etiquette on this bug tracker is.) |
