Description Hans-Georg Bork 2011-05-25 12:23:31 UTC
Hi,

I installed LibreOffice 3.3.2 on a CentOS 5.4 and just copied the template tree from OpenOffice into the similar location of LibreOffice (see listing below), but the templates are not accessible (visible) within LO.

In order to use the templates I need to move them all into one folder under /opt/libreoffice/basis3.3/share/template, but then the hierarchy of them is completely destroyed.

Just a note: with OpenOffice 3.2.1 and previous versions the tree was completely accessible and all templates and folders in all subfolders were visible.

Anyone an idea on how to get that fuunctionality back?

Kind regards

I used all previous versions of LO in openSUSE and did not have such problem.
Unfortunately with LibreOffice 3.5.3 some thing like this is available.
The behaviour of the dialogue form form File --> Template --> Template management is strange. I got some error messages and templates are not visible even they are there.
Also new templates can not be iported using this dialogue form.

Sorry I did a missprint. The faulty version of Libre office is 3.5.0 but not 3.5.3

I dig up that old bug and ask the question whether it's intended that sub-folders of the template folder are ignored and that their content isn't shown in the template manager?

Should users do the arrangement in the template manager instead of underlying the folder structure? But I haven't found any options to have a hierarchical ordering in the template manager.

let's ask the UX-team...

Jay, what do you think?

Templates are pulled from the main template folder (e.g. ~/Templates) and its sub folders (e.g. ~/Templates/Presentations), but not sub sub folders (e.g. ~/Templates/Presentations/Google).

Samuel and Akshay attempted to make sub sub folders work during the redesign of the template manager, but were unable to do so.
