Forgot to mention: my system's decimal mark is comma @it@orion-po.ru: Sample still is missing! Created attachment 47920 [details]
Sample file to reproduce bug
Here is a sample. Sorry for a delay.
NOT reproducible with "LibreOffice 3.4.0 – WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) English UI [OOO340m1 (Build:12)]" with correct settings. Looks like a user error, it's specific to CSV conventions (rfc 4180) that several declaration concerning interpretation of data have to be done outside the document. If LibO sitting is "decimal mark is comma", it's clear that "4.5" will not be recognized as half way between "4" and "5", but something else (string, 4th May 2011, ...) So -> WFM @it@orion-po.ru Please feel free to reopen this bug if you find out that a problem exists with the current stable LibreOffice version 3.4.0 or later. If you want to reopen: may I ask you to read hints on <http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport> carefully? Then please: - Attach also import result sample document as .ods - Attach screenshots with comments (you can add information using LibO DRAW and then attach your screenshot with comments as PDF) if necessary - Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem - add information -- what exactly is unexpected -- and why do you believe it's unexpected -- concerning your PC -- concerning your OS -- concerning your LibO version and localization (UI language) –- Libo settings that might be related to your problems -- how you launch LibO -- everything else crossing your mind after you read a.m. URL Can you please file Bug reports with status UNCONFIRMED if your are not absolutely sure that you contributed all required background information and that the problem will be reproducible with information you can provide? Thank you! Just a note for future readers: You can import documents with dot as a decimal mark by selecting language where dot is used. For example, if you select English, numbers with dot will be detected but document language will remain to be your language and (for my case) dots in numbers will be converted to commas. This solves my problem completely. Thanks a lot for your help and great office suite! |
