Description Saulo Toledo 2011-06-19 13:37:03 UTC
This is an annoying bug, but causes no data loss. How this happens:

1) Open LibreOffice (any application) and create a new file.
2) Save it with the name "my.file.name.ext" (ext is the file extension, odt, ods...)
3) Go to "File -> Save as" again, the name at window will be "my.ext": I lost ".file.name" and I need retype.

Please specify Libreoffice version and the operating system, because I cannot reproduce your bug on Windows/Linux with LibreOffice 3.3.2/3.4.
Comment 2 Saulo Toledo 2011-06-22 12:56:15 UTC
Version confirmed as 3.3.2 on Ubuntu (Natty) Linux. Versions 3.3.3 and 3.4.x not tested.
I saw this happens at recover window too: the file with "." at name only appear the part of the name preceding the "."

Returning to original post, I think I made a mistake. Let me try a new step-by-step:

1) Open LibreOffice Writer.

2) Save the file like my.completed.file.name (first problem here: at Linux, at least, LibreOffice will not put the file extension)

3) Go to "File -> Save as" again, the name at "Name" space of Save Window will be "my.completed.odt"

This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:

needinfo keyword redundant by needinfo status.
Comment 5 sasha.libreoffice 2012-01-27 06:35:49 UTC
this was reproducible in LibO 3.3.4
But in LibO 3.6.0 master on Fedora 64 bit not reproducible
