1. Create document with database fields
2. Tools > Mail merge wizard
3. goto Step 8 
  > document disappears, only Wizard window remains
4. Choose e.g. Save as one file and click OK
  > All the office gone.

cannot reproduce it today.
Prolly was caused by the environment I started the build in yesterday
