Description Jackson Sul 2011-07-21 10:31:08 UTC
Certain (fairly large 500kb+) .odt files sometimes take too long to open in Writer. As the files load, instead of the bar at the bottom filling up once or twice, as it normally does, it very rapidly fills and empties countless times, again and again for maybe 10 seconds. This has happened with .odt files created with older versions of Libre/Open office, and version 3.4.1. The saved cursor position is sometimes lost too, and the it simply begins at the top. Maybe about 25% of the time they open quickly - I've noticed no patterns with regards to when they do open at the normal speed.

The 3.3 series of Writer also occasionally took an abnormally long time to open larger .odt files, though much less frequently (plus the bar at the bottom didn't flash).

I'm running LibreOffice 3.4.1 on Ubuntu 10.10. Thanks.

I cannot, since it's my personal journal.
However, since upgrading to 3.4.2 I have no longer experienced this problem. I'm not sure what changed, but it seems fixed.
