Wrong rendering of footnote in page 2 (problem occurs in 3.4.2rc2)

LO 3.4.2rc2 renders the footnote on page 2 wrongly. Since everything was okay in LO 3.3.3, this bug is a regression.

In attached file on page 2, you see that every letter of the URL of one article from the Worldbank gets a separate paragraph. This is wrong, changes the layout and makes it difficult to work with LO.

Problem occurs with LibreOffice 3.4.2rc2 OOO340m1 (Build:202)
No problem with LibreOffice 3.3.3 OOO330m19 (Build:301)tag libreoffice-3.3.3.1, Ubuntu package 1:3.3.3-1ubuntu1

System: Ubuntu 11.04, Gnome2, English UI. Zotero bibliographic references.

Hi,

although this bug might sound small, I would be really glad if someone could have a look at it. Due to this bug I will not be able to use 3.4.2, but I also cannot go back to 3.3.3 due to instabilities with Graphite fonts and 3.4.1 was not recommended for heavy productive use. Thanks a lot!

Confirmed with LibO 3.4.2 RC3 (on WinXP).
Works well with LibO 3.3.3.

There seems to be an interrelation with pair kerning.
I've tried the following workaround:

1. Selected (highlighted)--in that case--the badly rendered part "http://siteresources.worldbank.org/HEALTHNUTRITIONANDPOPULATION/Resources/281627" [1]

2. Format > Character > Position > Spacing >
[ ] Pair kerning [disabled]

Rendering is OK now.

3. Saved/closed the file

4. Reopened the file (rendering is still OK)

5. Selected again "http://siteresources.worldbank.org/HEALTHNUTRITIONANDPOPULATION/Resources/281627"

6. Format > Character > Position > Spacing >
[✓] Pair kerning [enabled]

7. Saved/closed the file

8. Reopened the file (rendering is still OK)

Hi manj_k, thanks for having looked into the bug. Unfortunately, your proposed workaround does not work on my system. Even disabling pair kerning does not change anything.
Comment 5 gleppert 2011-07-29 00:12:53 UTC
Addition: Following *exactly* the workaround manj_k proposes, works. It is necessary to exactly select from "http..." to ".../281627". Then the rendering is okay like manj_k described. However, if you selected a bit more or a bit less of the text the rendering would be still bad.
Could anyone fix this bug? Thanks a lot!

Since all new unconfirmed bugs start in state UNCONFIRMED now and old unconfirmed bugs were moved to NEEDINFO with a explanatory comment, all bugs promoted above those bug states to NEW and later are automatically confirmed making the CONFIRMED whiteboard status redundant. Thus it will be removed.

No longer reproducible (on WinXP 32b) with

LibO 3.4.5 RC2
[LibreOffice 3.4.5 · OOO340m1 (Build:502)]

and

LibO 3.5.0 Beta2
[LOdev 3.5.0beta2 · Build ID: 8589e48-760cc4d-f39cf3d-1b2857e-60db978]
