Description d.d.huisman 2011-08-06 06:52:01 UTC
My program crashes while opening word files. Both were more then 2 MB so that can be the problem.
As an attachment a error log as Libreoffice produces.

I hope it helps. Or otherwise please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Failed to reproduce on LibreOffice 3.4 340m1(Build:103) for OpenSuse Linux.

I could open a 6.7 MB file with Writer with no problems. A 2 MB cap would seem like a pretty restricting limit for word files.

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1

Comment 4 sasha.libreoffice 2012-01-30 05:00:13 UTC
is this reproducible with 3.5.0?

This is similar to Bug 48692 - "Importing large .doc file causes loop". It's hard to say if this is the same bug because we don't have the .doc files and therefore can't see if there are any similarities.

As comment #2 below says and as I have stated in a comment to bug 48692, the size of the .doc file can NOT be the (only) root of the problem (I can open a 12 MB .doc file with Writer without any problems).

Changed 'Component' to 'Writer', because you will probably use Writer to open a Word file ;-)
