When trying to format a cell, and choosing the "Number" tab will cause the program to crash and the recovery wizard to start.

To reproduce:
1. Open a new spreadsheet
2. Open the "Format Cell" dialog
3. Choose "Numbers"

The program crashes immediately.

NOT reproducible with "LibreOffice 3.4.2 - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO340m1 (Build:203)]"

Linux specific?

Not reproducible on LibreOffice 3.4 340m1(Build:103) for OpenSuse Linux KDE. Agree with Rainer, information surrounding the circumstance of the crash (what you were doing before it particularly) would be great to diagnose this problem.
