Failed to reproduce on LibreOffice 3.4 340m1(Build:103) for OpenSuse Linux. Copied the exact list and sorted it with no problem. Can you provide a backtrace for the crash? See link: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport . Thanks. I am so sorry. Turns out I'm an idiot. I have a second monitor that was turned off and the dialog box was opening on the second monitor. It was waiting for my input making it appear that the program had froze. My apologies.
