Description Gábor Kövesdán 2011-10-25 05:38:26 UTC
When I was pasting the same value to the different cells, I accidentally clicked on a column header instead of the first cell and then pressed Ctrl-v. This resulted in LibreOffice Calc trying to paste the same value into all cells of the row. The program became unresponsive and I saw in the task manager that it started to consume more and more memory. I killed the process so I don't know if it would ever have finished doing that but I think it is not really a needed feature to have the same value in a whole column or if it, there should be a confirmation dialog that tells the user that the operation can take a while and the program will become unresponsive for the meantime.

My Versio: Win7 x64 LibO 3.5.0
I have assaigned Markus Mohrhard. Maybe he could do some tweaks (Maybe set the value for A1,A2,...,A1048576, instead to A1:A1048576, but I am not a developer...

This behavior is by design and makes most of the time sense.

We know that there are some minor cases where this behavior produces problems but there has been no better concepty yet. We will need to investigate that in afuture release.

It does not hang calc, it just needs a bit more time because it fills a bit more than 1 million rows with data.
