The numbers look like arabic. Changing the following setting rectifies the strange characters LibreOffice -> Tools -> Options Language Settings -> Complex Text Layout General Options Numerals : <change the settings to non-Hindi selection> 'Context', 'System' or 'Arabic' settings restores to regular English font for numerals. Setting to 'Hindi' creates a wrong font character selection, which is neither 'Hindi' nor 'English'. Hey Thanks , It worked . I guess it may not be a bug after all ... also is there a page which could guide me on how to install a hindi font? @ Tor or Andras Please, take look at this bugreprot when have time. Here about installation on Windows. |
Created attachment 54099 [details] Screenshot of Bug. (numbers appear as strange characters) It started when I tried to install a Hindi font without success in Writer. When typing in any module of LibreOffice, the numerals from 0 to 9 appear as some unknown characters. If I copy and paste these characters into MS Word they appear as numbers , but if I copy numbers from Word into Writer they again appear as unknown characters. I've tried reinstalling Libreoffice. I've tried different versions as well, but the problem persists. The screenshot attached shows the numbers from 0 to 9 when typed in Writer.
