In this step Libreoffice calculates the result of all cells in the first sheet which might take some time with a lot of matrix formulas. It is a known problem that we need too much time calculating the result but we have already a bug report for that. Hello I know that it is taking long - but on Ubuntu it is freezing the whole system - the only thing you can do is switch off the power and I have the probleme for nearly since spring 11 (probably since Ubuntu changed to libreOffice) ==> are you sure this is the same problem? added another file lo3.4.4 refuses to open
btw: the file can be opened with oo3.4m1 but will freeze if one enters a value in
column c which does not exist in column a (e.g. 0 or 2501).
I can no longer reproduce this using 3.5 and later releases. In any way I slice it, I can't reproduce this hang or memory issue using 3.5 and later. I'll mark this bug fixed. Please try at least the latest stable 3.5 or later. For the record, I do remember fixing a bug very similar to this one during the 3.5 cycle.
