I have crash and test case for it.
My steps:
1. Open the attached file in writer.
2. Select All text (Ctrl+A)
3. Format->columns...
4. Select 3 columns item
5. Ok
6. Go to the end of first column (See screenshot)
7. Insert->Manual Break...
8. Select "Column break"
9. Ok
10. The Crash

The crash is reproducible ('crash.odt', steps 1 to 9, on WinXP 32b) 
with LibO 3.4.4 release
[LibreOffice 3.4.4 · OOO340m1 (Build:402)].

The attached 'crash.odt'(steps 1 to 9) doesn't crash with:

LibO 3.5.0 Beta2
[LOdev 3.5.0beta2 · Build ID: 8589e48-760cc4d-f39cf3d-1b2857e-60db978]

LibO 3.4.5 RC2
[LibreOffice 3.4.5 · OOO340m1 (Build:502)].


Waiting for additional confirmation (on Linux).

I have no more newest versions at this time. It's depended on my distro. Waiting for updates...

I checked with 3.5RC1: no crash

I checked with 

LibreOffice 3.6.0alpha0+ 
Build ID: 
	7afa765-9eed775-f061262-libreoffice-3-5
	branch-point
: no crash

(all on debian wheezy 64bits)

Short summary: The bug doesn't occur any more in LibO 3.4.5, LibO 3.5.x, LibO Master (obviously Linux and Windows).

Changed status to WORKSFORME.

@Sergey Gusarov:
Feel free to reopen the bug if the aboved mentioned versions didn't work for you.
