Description Rod 2012-01-27 15:53:54 UTC
Created attachment 56246 [details]
Row 42 to 59 was created by dragging many columns Relative references now those are all absolute

This means they can no longer be dragged to enlarge the table I am using.

I have used many versions of Open office and excel and this creates unusable spreadsheets.

I know this happened this evening as I had edited out $ for about an hour earlier as I had strange results on my Update last week, so I could extend the table by dragging down.

I have cells which have absolute columns and relative rows. If I close and reopen the Rows are now absolute as well.

Visible result: After reopen seen =(ABS($G$27-$D$27)) what was =(ABS($G27-$D27)) before save.

Not reproducible with "LibreOffice 3.5.0 RC2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID: e371a95-bf68a13-5a1aa2b-d3c1ae9-b938258] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)

I created a more simple sample from reporter's sample only containing relevant part of row 42, did some copy / paste, drag and drop, close and reopen did not see any unexpected absolute row references.

If reproducible, this indeed might be a dangerous dataloss problem. But unfortunately currently I fail to create a sample and a clear step by step instruction how to reproduce the problem. Further research will be required.

@Rod:
It would be great if you could help to create a very simple source.xls and a step by step instruction how to reproduce the problem. When we have that we can decide severity.

Workaround,
Highlight the problem row, replace the $27 with 28(or correct entry And replace all.

And the absolute references are now relative on the current row!
