Well, I currently run:

LibreOffice 3.4.5 
OOO340m1 (Build:502)

on Kubuntu 11.10 with KDE Platform Version 4.8.00 (4.8.0.

When I use now LO in KDE with kwin compositing enabled, I don't see any text in the menus e.g.:

When I disable compositing (Alt-Shift-F12), I see then everything normal:

It happens with libreoffice-kde installed and uninstalled.

I also added a bug report to the KDE project as I don't know if it's an LO problem or a KDE one. I only noticed this behaviour in LO this far:

According to the KDE bug report they think it's a problem with LO ('s font rendering)
