Created attachment 58479 [details] Example to show how overwrite should work In writer, if a text range is selected and then overwritten with new characters, the formatting of the original characters should be preserved and transfered to the newly written ones. Example: There are some "bold" characters between normal ones. When selecting the bold ones and typing a new text, this should also appear in "bold". A sample file explaining my meaning will be added. In my opinion the requested feature, which is also implemented in MS-Word, is very useful.
