I go to open up a previous file and it crashes.  I reopen it and it asks if I want to recover a file and almost always opens up at that point and I proceed to use Libreoffice like normal.  Previous addition didn't do this.

Could you give a try to 3.5.3 with a brand new LO profile (see http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile) ?

No feedback since months, I put this as WFM.
David, don't hesitate to reopen this tracker if you still reproduce the crash after having renamed your LO profile and installed a newer version (3.5.6 or 3.6.2)
