Description chessgeniuss 2012-05-13 06:13:15 UTC
Select Arial or Times New Roman and then write a few same sentences in LibreOffice 3.5.3 and MS Office 2010. There is a difference in favor of MS Office. Some fonts are too adhere to each other, and others are too far away. You need to be carefully considered. LibreOffice 3.5.3 font spacing is incorrect.

What OS/Platform are you using ? do you really have those fonts installed ? or are you basing from an existing document ? can you provide a side-by-sude screenshot of it going wrong ? :-)

Thanks !

Hello. Thanks for answer !

Screenshots:

LibreOffice 3.6 in Windows 7 SP1x64 - http://postimage.org/image/5voz7qxeb/
MS Office 2010 in Windows 7 SP1x64 - http://postimage.org/image/v34glqpw3/

To see this bug U must compared words like: decades (letters 'e' and 'c'), soon (letters 'o' and 'o'), school (letters 's' and 'c'), pacino (letters 'a' and 'c'),
himself (letters 's' and 'e'), actors (letters 'r' and 's'), sometimes (letters 'e' and 't'.

LibreOffice is great, but i hate this bug so much :) Please fix this.
I tested this on all computers with Windows 7.

sample document (I assume a .docx ?) much appreciated too :-) Do you get better behavior when using a .doc format ? Thanks !
Comment 5 chessgeniuss 2012-08-21 14:50:16 UTC
This problem occurs in any document format in LibreOffice. odt, docx, doc - no difference. Now tested free software Kingsoft Office Suite and the problem does not occur. Only in LibreOffice. This bug is very hard to see, but I'm sensitive to the point of typography :)

Sample document:

I think this is an issue of default spacing values. If there is no objection, setting status to "New".
