Description Toby 2012-05-27 10:08:02 UTC
Installation of LibreOffice 3.5.3 on Vista Home Edition failes with the missleading and blocking hint that already a Libre Installation is running. This message is not true, as it is the first LibreOffice installation attempt on that system. True is that it is an Openoffice Installation that is runinning and it is not visible for average user that Openoffice is already running, as it is autostarted as preload in background while system starts. The missleading LibreOffice message can only be avoided by opening Windows Task Manager with Strg-Alt-Del and killing the Openoffice process there. That is much over the knowlewdge level of an average user.

Sounds like a DUP of "Bug 46604 - Installation problem on XP SP3"?

OpenOffice QuickStarter should have a visible icon on the system tray.

Anyway, the error message you mentioned was made clearer in LibreOffice 3.6. Unfortunately LibreOffice 3.5 is in string freeze state, it is not possible to fix it there, too.
