Original document

Problem description: A docx file was provided to make suggestions on saving IT costs for a US state government. My intention was to suggest the use of LibreOffice instead of Microsoft Word, but I can't even use LibreOffice to fill out the form because it doesn't load the table formats correctly.

It appears that the tables are losing their border attributes. In addition, the document expands from 1 page in Word to 1.5 pages in LibreOffice. I double-checked that the same font (Calibri) is being used in both, so I don't believe it to be a font issue.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open attached file
2. Notice formatting

LibreOffice Version: 3.5.4.2

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0

only partly reproducible with LO 3.6.4.3. (Win7 Home, 64bit)

The document looks in LO 3.6.4.3. much better than in the PDF attachment for LO 3.5.4.2., especially the tables. Therefore, the compatibility has probably been improved much more from 3.5.4.2. to 3.6.4.3. I do not have LO 3.5.4.2. and therefore can not compare it.

Nevertheless, there are two issues left:
First, the document is still not on only one page as in WORD 2007.
Second, the grey background colours of the field names are much darker in LO 3.6.4.3. than in WORD 2007.

Seems like the problem is only with table background color. Other problems not occured.

Tested on LO 4.0.4.2 (Win7 32bit)

Tested using Mac OSX 10.9 with LibreOffice Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: b540f9172814f51361cf31d2a4b03e34d1d375ef
TinderBox: MacOSX-x86@49-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2014-02-15_00:28:42

Looks completely fixed. Light-grey background when imported. Also resaved as .docx and open it again result in a light-grey background.

Document also fits on 1 page, as mentioned by ign_christian in comment 4.

Marking as RESOLVED WORKSFORME.
Comment 6 Jorendc 2014-02-15 09:53:44 UTC
Also fixed in Version: 4.2.1.1
Build ID: d7dbbd7842e6a58b0f521599204e827654e1fb8b
Might be fixed in 4.2.0.4 as well (can't check right now).

Kind regards,
Joren
