Selecting Tools | Spelling and Grammar simply does not check spelling.

I click on Continue checking at beginning of document, and there is a
spelling error in there, but it doesn't find it.

Thank you for your report, but 3.4.4 is very outdated, we will not follow up your problem.

Additionally you report unfortunately is much too rare, it's impossible to find the reason of your problems with so few information.
