Confirmed with: LO 4.0.0.0.beta2 Build ID: own W7 debug build Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit Backup directory have to be created manually otherwise error is displayed as in attachment 62790 [details]. So lets rephrase the summary to be more meaningful and mark as NEW. |
Problem description: Steps to reproduce: 1. enable 'always create backup copy' under tools->options->load/save->general 2. save an existing document after editing Current behavior: error message (see screenshot) and document not saved. Expected behavior: save document and backup copy Platform (if different from the browser): Ubuntu 12.04, 64bit. Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0 I found the cause of this error: The default directory for backups listed under tools->options->LibreOffice-> paths (/home/MYUSERNAME/.config/libreoffice/3/user/backup) did not exist. Manually creating the backup directory solved the problem. I would expect this direcotry to be created automatically either on install or on the first attempt to save a backup document.
