Description effevene 2012-07-20 09:42:50 UTC
When I'm inserting several data in form's table with list-box columns, I complete a row, and begin to insert the next row, I go in list-box, I press a key to have again the last value I used in the row above, but libreoffice fails to remember the last value I used in row above.
Example: I have a list box with values APPLE - ARMAD - AZUUL. In a row I select AZUUL. I complete the row and in the next row, I press the "a" to have again AZUUL. But libreoffice gives me APPLE.
In past version libreoffice remembered the last value, very useful when inserting a lot of data.

I can not confirm this behaviour in LO 3.3.4, OpenSuSE Linux 32bit. Which version of LO do you mean? I don't think this has been a only-MAC-feature.
Comment 2 effevene 2012-08-03 08:47:50 UTC
I just tried LibreOffice 3.3.3 OOO330m19 (Build:301), and he works as I explained.
Comment 3 effevene 2012-08-03 08:52:48 UTC
ADD: Also the LibreOffice 3.3.4 OOO330m19 (Build:401) worked as I explained.
Comment 4 effevene 2012-08-03 08:59:27 UTC
ADD: the LibreOffice 3.4.0 OOO340m1 (Build:12) has instead the same bug I found in 3.5.5.3
SUMMARY: the list-box works fine in 3.3.3 and 3.3.4, and begin to show the problem in 3.4.0 --> 3.5.5.3
Comment 5 Robert Großkopf 2012-08-03 10:05:48 UTC
So this seem to be a feature in the earlier versions, which only works with MAC.
I set this Bug to New and hope, other person could confirm it.

This issue was not yet confirmed by a person different from the reporter, so I reset the status to UNCONFIRMED. (No offence -- just sorting bug reports!)

@ Alex Thurgood:

Hi Alex,
you have got more experience with database issues than me (I have to confess that I am not even sure if I understand the issue completely). Can you confirm this issue? Seems to be a regression ...

Thank you very much,

Roman

Hi *,
the problem is that only a few QA-people (perhaps nobody with Database-interest) are using Mac. I fear that this bugrepot can not be reproduced so quickly.

On the contrary, I have a Mac and am interested in databases ;-) which is why Roman asked me to take a look, but I'm not always in front of my OSX machine. At weekends, I'm mostly on my Linux box. Will take a look tomorrow.

I do have a few questions though to the original poster :

How is the list box created ? SQL, direct entry in a predetermined list, or some other way ? (if so, how ?)

The fact that is worked in previous versions is interesting, I have 3.3.4, 3.5.6 and a dev daily on my OSX machine, but it would be helpful to have a sample test file with which to play around, rather than having to create one myself.

The columns with this problem use a query as "type of list contents".

I have a problem to add a test file because my database is connected to a mysql database, so if I add the libreoffice file I'm using, it will be empty and looking for the mysql database.

Hmm, I've just been thinking that the feature you had before may just have been an unintended beneficial side-effect on the Mac of list box string presentation. String sorting of lists was changed during 3.4/3.5 to be more coherent, which might explain why you no longer get that "feature" in recent versions on OSX.

I will have to check when I've got some free time.

post the create table statement(s) here and then the sql query you use to bind your form field to the table.

Closing this issue for now. Important information is missing. No reply for over 5 months.

If you still experience this problem, could you please try to:

* test against the latest stable LO version (currently 4.1.3.2)
http://libreoffice.org/download/

Should you still run into this problem, you can re-open this issue.
